DE GRAAF - Alieda J. DeGraaf, age 92, of Grand Rapids, MI, went to be with her Lord on Friday, May 24, 2024 “Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord. They will rest from their labor for their deeds will follow them” Rev. 14:13. Her great comfort was that she belonged to her faithful Savior, Jesus Christ, who fully paid for all her sins with his precious blood. Alieda was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who invested her life in the lives of others. She is dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, H. John and Alieda Van Boven; sisters, Stella and Marilyn; and grandson, Benjamin DeGraaf. Alieda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 71 years, John; her children, Jim (Bev) DeGraaf, Jeananne (Dan) Kuiper, Dale (Barb) DeGraaf, Brent (Roxanne) DeGraaf; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; her brother, Melvin  (Carole) VanBoven; her brother-in-law, Eugene Holland; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Bratt; many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Tuesday, May 28, from 6 - 8 pm and Wednesday, May 29, from 10 -11 am at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, where the funeral service will begin at 11 am with Rev. Evan Heerema officiating.  Interment in Kent Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to World Renew Disaster Response Services.
