Mildred "Milly" Mogg

Mildred "Milly" Mogg, age 85, of Grand Rapids, MI, went to be with Jesus on Friday, April 26, 2024. She is survived by her faithful husband of 67 years, Cecil "Gene" Mogg. Together they raised three children, Angie (Doug) Lockhart, Brian (Darolyn) Mogg, and Michelle Mogg. Milly was the loving grandmother to Shanda (Jim) Drury, Zack Lockhart, Drew (Kayla) Mogg, Jenna (Brian) Finkel; two great grandsons, JJ, and Cole Drury, who gave her great joy and many laughs. Also remembering Milly is her sister, Karen (Phil) Lewan; sisters-in-law, Gloria Hecocks, Joy Mogg; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by brother, Gerald Hecocks; sister, Helen (Robert) DeJonge; brother-in-law, Jerry Mogg. Milly was born in Petoskey, MI, to Rev. James and Viola Hecocks. Milly loved her family, loved dogs, loved playing both the organ and piano, and fully loved her Savior. The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, April 29, from 6 to 8 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, also prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 AM, Tuesday, April 30. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 30, at 11 AM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St SE, Grand Rapids, 49508. Pastor Kimber Decker will officiate. Interment will be in Spring Arbor Cemetery at 4 PM, Tuesday, April 30. Through years of working and worshipping together, whether in Africa or the U.S. my family developed a strong affinity for Millie, Gene and their family born of trust and admiration for their faithful and exemplary service. This was lived out in the enumerable ways close friends trust, support and comfort each other whether in great deed or simple companionship which now, in the wake of Millie's passing, are of special memory. Having experienced the shared commitment and dedication of Millie and my mother (Louise Snyder) to relieving the burdens of others it seems particularly fitting that they would reunite on the occasion of my Mom's birthday and experience in full the love they helped so many of us share in part. To Gene, Angie, Brian, Michelle and the whole clan we are with you in mind, heart and prayer.

Milly was a wonderful, faithful woman that reflected the love of Jesus in a special way. She played the piano quite well and had a sneaky great sense of humor. Will be missed greatly. She and Gene have been a great team and their marriage was a shining example of a Godly relationship that works !
