JODIE MARIE LEMMER

Jodie Marie Lemmer, 60 years old, residing with her Aunt Karen Lemmer-Way at 1692 Linden Trail, Kalamazoo, MI, passed away on March 1, 2024 after a long hard battle with cancer.

Jodie was born on November 07, 1963 to Dr. Thomas Adrian Lemmer and Irene Mary Lemmer (Magnusson) in Kalamazoo, MI. After Jodie graduated from Menominee High School in 1981, she moved to Grand Rapids, MI. where she took some graduate courses.

Jodie’s desire was always to be a Flight Attendant. She was hired by Northwest Airlines in 1988 and ended her 36-year flight career with Delta Airlines as an International Flight Attendant / Purser flying across the world.

Jodie enjoyed skiing in exotic places in Europe and was a member of the International Airlines Ski Federation (IASF) on the Delta Airline Team. Her most recent ski trips with her colleagues included Norway, Steamboat Springs, Telluride, Copper Mountain, and many other destinations. She was an ICON season pass holder and had planned to go to Switzerland to ski this Spring. She traveled the world on vacation to numerous destinations in Europe, India and Asia. Jodie also loved sailing and sailed with friends at the Interline Regada for a number of years in the Virgin Islands, and had a sailing excursion in Tahiti.

Jodie is survived by her mother Irene Cash, father Dr. Thomas Lemmer, stepfather James Cash, stepmother Barbara Lemmer, brother Andrew Lemmer, sister Cynthia Grant, and sister Kathrine Lemmer. Nephews and nieces include: Michael Smith, Brittany Hagopian, Zachary Lemmer, Benjamin Lemmer, Alexsa Grant, Emilee Grant, grandnephew Connor Hagopian and grandniece Vivian Lemmer.

A memorial service will be held later this Spring 2024. Jodie will be laid to rest at Mount Ever Rest Memorial Park in Kalamazoo, MI.
