Nancy Marie Stanley, age 77, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Detroit, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Nancy was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved reading and working on puzzles. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her cats and dogs. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, Roger, and Richard Stanley; and brother-in-law, Phil Tietz. Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Karen Tietz; nieces and nephews, Kim (Tom) Edwards, Mike Tietz, Kelly (Scott) VanEerden; great nieces and nephews, Jessica (Riley) Smith, Katherine Edwards (Paulo Quiros), Jaquez Edwards, Julia Tietz, Megan VanEerden, Cody VanEerden; great-great nieces and nephews, Jordyn Smith, Christopher Smith, Rory Smith; and special friend, Irene Meekhof. The family will greet visitors on Thursday, January 18, from 2:00 - 3:30 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, followed by the funeral service at 4 pm with Mike Tietz officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kent County Humane Society.
