Brian K. Welch, age 83, went home to be with his Lord late Saturday evening, January 6, 2024. Brian retired from American Seating after more than 30 years of service. He was an avid reader, going to many different libraries, and enjoyed evening walks with his wife, Nancy. Traveling with his wife was a highlight, and they especially enjoyed their times visiting National Parks, Glen Arbor, MI, and Sanibel Island, FL. Brian served in the US Air Force.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, in May, 2023; and will be lovingly remembered by his children, Barb (Tom) Budde, Laura (Jim) Welch Vilker, Jeff (Michele) Welch; his grandchildren, Rebecca (Andrew) Vriesema, Matthew Budde, Chase Welch, Andrew Welch; his sisters-in-law, Carol (Skip) Young, Judy Walbridge; and many nieces and nephews. The family will greet visitors on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 12 noon to 1 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th Street SE, Grand Rapids, where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Rev. Rodney Otto officiating.  Interment will be in Blain Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
