Robert Jay Faber, aged 95, of Grand Rapids, MI, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 4, 2024. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force as a fighter pilot during the Korean War. He was an avid reader and golfer, enjoying the game into his 90’s and was proud of having 3 holes in one. He graduated from Calvin College and he worked and retired as a CFO. Bob loved to sing in the church choir and in the Ambassador Quartet. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Faber; great-granddaughter, Caitlin Mae Faber; parents, Clarence and Cecilia Faber; siblings, Edna and Robert Alles, Larry Faber, Glenn Faber, and Donald Faber; brothers-in-law, Peter Van Putten, Roger Naber. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Marie; children, Marc (Mary) Faber, Jim (Lori) Faber, Paul (Lori) Faber, Bob (Wanda) Faber, Sheryl (Michael) Meulenberg, Barbara Haaksma, Steve (Kim) Haaksma, Marvin Haaksma, 18 Grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren with one on the way. Sisters-in-law, Bette Faber, Bonnie Faber, Jeanette Faber, Markie Van Putten, Joanne Naber; brothers-in-law, Roger (Jinger) Van Putten, Gene (Kathy) Van Putten; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 9, from 5 to 7 PM and on Wednesday Jan. 10, from 12 to 12:45 pm at Friendship CRC. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 1 PM at Friendship CRC, 190 - 100^th St. SE, Byron Center, MI, 49315; with Rev. Cal Compagner and Rev. Tim Holwerda, officiating. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Corewell Health Hospice or a Christian school of your choice.
