Susan (Bird) Smokoski, age 76, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Saginaw, MI, passed away from complications of pulmonary fibrosis on Saturday, December 23, 2023. Susan was an educator with Kentwood Public Schools. She loved watching her sons swimming meets and after they finished swimming she continued to volunteer at swim meets doing timing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; and parents, Lyle and Mary G. Bird.  Susan will be lovingly remembered by her sons, John and David; brother, Gary (Mary) Bird and their children. A memorial service time will be determined at a later date. Contributions in memory of Susan may be made to Paws with a Cause.
