Philip Harrison, age 85, peacefully went to be with his Lord on December 7, 2023, in Grand Rapids, MI. Phil was born in Worcester, MA, in 1938, and moved to Michigan in 1956. After completing his education and obtaining his DDS degree, Phil operated a dental practice in Waterford, MI for 25 years, where he was known for his kind, gentle spirit and his sense of humor. An avid outdoorsman, Phil enjoyed many outdoor activities, including running, sailing, water and snow skiing, camping, and hiking. He was also a fierce racquetball player. Most important to Phil was his relationship with God. He was a true biblical scholar and spent countless hours studying God's Word and pointing others to God. After retiring from dentistry, Phil worked for a time as a machinist and enjoyed volunteering for various organizations, especially his church, but also including Habitat for Humanity, teaching English as a second language, and the Florida Park Service. He loved his family dearly and will be deeply missed by his son, Robert Mark Harrison and his wife, Patty; his daughter, Susan Case and her husband, Jim; 6 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; his sister, Mary Bell and her husband, Rodger; several nieces and nephews. Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. A. Robert and Mary Harrison; his birth mother, Alice Harrison; his brothers, Herbert Harrison and Julian Harrison; and his sister, Susan Moulton. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, December 10, at Church of God (Seventh Day), 3880 Jefferson Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI. Interment in Dutton Cemetery, Gaines Township, MI.
