Ronald Bruce Shippy, age 87, of Grand Rapids, MI, was born to Neil and Ester Shippy in 1936.  He graduated from Kelloggsville High School in 1955 and went on to Albion College to pursue his Pharmacy degree which he earned at the University of Michigan.  He then joined his father at Shippy's Pharmacy.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Yvonne; and his son, Mark.  He leaves behind his daughter, Suzanne (Allen); daughter-in-law, Elizabeth; sister, Lynda (Doug); brother, Thomas (Jean); nephew, Scott; brother-in-law, Lee; two nieces, Tara (Peter), Lancie (Dennis); and extended family on Yvonne's side, Alexa (Tom) and Meridith.  Dad was an active member at Mayflower Congregational Church and found comfort in the fellowship he found there with friends and fellow parishioners.  Ron and Yvonne loved to travel, especially with their best friends, Al and Roberta Dieterman.  He loved gambling (though he wasn't very good at it), boating, time spent at Green Lake with family and friends, holiday dinners at his home, and other people's animals.  He also found love later in life with Lynn Malcheck and spent many enjoyable days and excursions together.  I'd also like to mention the Weber's, Kilburg's and the Cassis' for their kindness and friendship.  A Celebration of Life will be held at Mayflower Church at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a donation to Cancer Research or Alzheimer's Disease.

Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear.
