Ellis H. Davis, also known as the Handsome Hillbilly, age 88, of White Cloud, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 11, 2024, surrounded by his family holding his hand, and playing music. We found it quite poetic that Bepaw left this earth on the same day that his dedicated wife, of almost 64 years, came into this world. He is leaving behind a legacy of music and love that will forever resonate in our family and beyond. His music was always in high demand, from his music friends to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His talent and love for music led him on a journey of many memories, touching the lives of countless individuals through his melodies and harmonies. Whether it was the gentle strumming of his guitar or the humming of a timeless tune, his music had the power to captivate those around him. Although his physical presence may no longer be with us, the memory of him is forever etched in our hearts. In his honor, let us remember the melody of his life and carry it forward, embracing the beauty of music and cherishing the bonds of family and friendship. He was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ellis was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Fran; and son, Thomas Davis. He is survived by his children, Angie McLain, Anola (Bill) Berkenpas, Mark (Wendy) Davis, Krisi (Gary) Richardson; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Robert Davis; and sister-in-law, Dolly Wilson; and a special friend, Virginia Kowal. The family will greet visitors on Saturday, February 17, from 10 - 11 am at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, where the funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be in Blain Cemetery. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may we find solace when we hear the strumming of a guitar. Forever in our hearts, forever in our melodies. |
