Thomas James Panik, age 82, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Tom was born on July 9, 1941, to Thomas and Marie Panik in St. Johns, Michigan. After graduating high school, he went on to earn his degree in data processing, which started his long career in the automotive supply industry, both in information services and purchasing. Tom had a quick and hearty laugh, adorable smirk, and a love for Michigan sports - Wolverines, Lions, and Tigers. Tom will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 61 years, Susan; children, Amy Preston, Mike (Tammi Schafer) Panik; grandchildren, Nicholas (Elise) Panik, Tyler Panik (Leci), Kylee (Casey) Johnson, Ryan Schafer; sister, Elaine (Dave) Womboldt; brother, Donald (Tomi) Panik; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his dear dog, Teddy. Honoring Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tom's life on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI. There will be a time of open visitation from 12 - 3 PM, with a time for sharing memories at 2 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of West Michigan.
