Jennifer "Jenn" Rose (Wildey) Palm, loving wife and mother, of Grand Rapids, MI passed away suddenly on Monday, July 22, 2024.  Born on November 4, 1981, Jenn was the cherished daughter of Janet E. Irwin and the late Barry J. Wildey.  Jenn's life was a tapestry of family, love, education, and community service.  She had a love for learning, teaching, and bringing people together.  She was salutatorian of her graduating class of Wyoming Park High School.  Pursuing her passion for education, she obtained a master’s degree in communications from Grand Valley State University where she also spent a career spanning 18 years, most recently with the Undergraduate Nursing Program.  Jenn's heart found its counterpart when she met and fell in love with James Palm.  They were married almost 15 years and were blessed by the birth of their son, Jackson Orion, their pride and joy.  Jenn's life was rich with hobbies.  She loved to try different mediums including painting, counted cross stitch and crochet where her skills were unmatched.  She blessed so many people with her beautiful creations as she wanted to brighten someone's day or help those having a difficult time.  She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Barry; grandparents, Iris Wildey, Marcia and Gerald Wildey, and Robert Irwin.  Jenn's memory will be honored by her beloved husband, James; her son, Jackson; grandmother, Janet B. Irwin; mother, Janet E. Irwin (Tom Hoseth); brother, Jordan Wildey; aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephew, and community friends.  A service to celebrate Jenn's life will be held at 2 PM, on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI, 49508, where a visitation will be held prior from 1 to 2 pm, with Rev. Mary Spalding as celebrant.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made online in Jenn's name to MomsBloom at https://momsbloom.org/.

I am extremely sorry for your loss. Jenn was my supervisor when we both worked for The Graduate School at GVSU. She was always super kind, caring, and funny—overall, a joy to be around. I have no doubt she has made a positive impact on each of the GVSU students who had the pleasure to have her as a professor. Sending my condolences to her loved ones.

I am so grateful I was able to have Jenn as a part of my life, even if just for a couple of years. She didn’t just challenge me but, she educated me and helped me see things from a different lense. I am so incredibly sorry that the world lost such a powerful and special person. Praying for her family to have peace knowing she loved them, she was loved, and she made a difference.
