Nancy A. Clancy was born September 20, 1932, and went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 12, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack H. Clancy; parents, Theron and Jennie Bloomer; sister and brother-in-law, Elenor and Arthur House; brothers, Arthur Bloomer, William Bloomer, and her loving friend, Duane Tinker. She will be deeply missed by her son, Patrick (Jan) Clancy; daughters, Charli Sue Douglas, Julie (Gary) Simons, Deborah (Denny) Hiemstra, Susan (Wesley) Kikumoto; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Barbara Bloomer, Kathryn (Max) Carr Batterson, Rosie (Jimmy) Green; many nieces and nephews; special friends, the Tinker family; and numerous friends at her church. Nancy was very active in her church (South United Methodist Church) being in the choir and altar guild. She worked 30 years for Kentwood Public Schools as a secretary and won the Kentwood first women of the year award for 1976-77. Nancy loved camping with the National Campers and Hikers Association. She won numerous awards for her newsletter she published for her camping group, The Wandering Wigwams. Her life led her to do volunteer work with the Native Americans Indians in New Mexico, where she spent six months tutoring children in the after school program at her church. Nancy was an avid reader and loved to share this by helping others learn how to read. Nancy's family will welcome visitors on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 10 to 11 am at South United Methodist Church, 4500 S. Division Ave, Kentwood, MI (enter off of Ridgemore Street); where a service in celebration of Nancy will begin at 11 am, with Rev. Christine Beaudoin officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of Nancy may be made to South United Methodist Church, Corewell Hospice, or the Alzheimer's Association. |
