Ronald M. Szirovecz, age 78, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, January 26, 2024. Ron was born on May 5, 1945 to the late Michael and Margaret Szirovecz in Grand Rapids, MI. After working for a short time as a licensed barber, Ron went on to work at Gear Research for 34 years, serving as plant supervisor for many of those years. He enjoyed being an active member of the Grand Rapids Rifle and Pistol Club, where he mentored many shooters. For nine years, Ron volunteered for Mel Trotter Ministries. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon and Kenneth Duchene; brother, Michael Szirovecz; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill Wright, Harriet Barr, Arthur Beals, and Carl Yonkers. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Sharon; son, Steven and Julie Szirovecz; grandson, Kyle Szirovecz; sister, Sandra Wright; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Christine Szirovecz, Marcia Yonkers, Sandra and Jim Bruce, Robert and Cindy Beals, Bob Barr, Judy Beals; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31, from 10 - 11 AM at Hillside Community Church, 1440 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, where a memorial service celebrating Ron's life will follow at 11 AM, with Pastor Ron Kool officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. Contributions in memory of Ron may be made to Mel Trotter Ministries or Paws With A Cause.
