LaVerne Henry TerHaar, age 92, of Moline, MI passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2026, and is now with his Lord and Savior.  LaVerne proudly served in the U.S. Army.  He enjoyed golfing and monopoly tournaments.  LaVerne loved watching his grandchildren's activities and spent many years on the Son Life Camp Board.  He was a long-time charter member of the Conference Grounds.  After many years of faithful service, LaVerne retired from APV Baker.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; sons, James LaVerne TerHaar; sister and brother-in-law, Carol (Ernie) Barrigear.  LaVerne will be dearly missed by his children, Donald and Lynn TerHaar, Anne Burkett, Richard and Kristy TerHaar; grandchildren, Derrick and Jami TerHaar, Justin and Rachael Reimink, Mark and Alicia Adams, Brian and Shauna Burkett, Sara and Dustin Hollingshead, Becky Burkett, Hannah TerHaar, Elizabeth TerHaar; 20 great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be held at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508, on Sunday, March 29, from 2 to 4 PM.  The funeral service will be held at Moline Christian Reformed Church, 4341 Chappell St., Wayland, 49348, on Monday, March 30, at 11:00 AM with a one-hour visitation prior to the service from 10 to 11.  Pastor Willem de Vries will officiate.  Interment will be in Hooker Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in memory of LaVerne may be made to Son Life Camp (189 126th Ave., Wayland, MI 49348) or Moline Christian School (1253 144th Ave., Wayland, MI 49348).
