Dale F. DeVries, age 76, of Cutlerville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 22, 2026, after a short battle with cancer. Dale proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years and was a dedicated employee of Lumberman's for 26 years prior to retirement. As a longtime member of Providence CRC, Dale was privileged to serve as a deacon and an elder. He loved his family and faithfully provided for them. He was married to his wife, Ellie, for 51 years, and together they were blessed with their children and grandchildren, Becky and Jacob Savola (Micah, Anna, Isaac), Ben and Kim DeVries (Natalie, Mitchell), Brad and Julie DeVries (Kinley, Keeva). Dale is also survived by his sister, Nan and Herb Looman; his brother, Ron and Kim DeVries; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Thelma Kamps, Gloria (deceased) and Carl Zylstra, Gil and Janice Kamps, Sharon and Gene Koorn, Louis and Cindy Kamps; as well as many nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by their infant daughter, Sandra Dawn, his parents, Franklin and Jeanette DeVries, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Agnes Kamps. The family expresses sincere thanks to the Cancer and Hematology Center and Faith Hospice for their loving care provided to Dale and his family for the last six months. The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, March 25, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at Providence Christian Reformed Church, 7730 Eastern Ave. SE, Grand Rapids. The funeral service will be held at Providence CRC on Thursday, March 26, at 11 AM, with Pastor K.C. VandeStreek and Pastor Mark Heijerman officiating. Live-streaming of the service will be available on the church website: www.providencegr.org. There will also be a visitation prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 AM.
