Christine Kay (VanKampen) Johnson, age 75, of Plainwell, MI passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 8, 2026, following complications of heart surgery and went to her heavenly home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hank and Vi VanKampen; brother, Rodney VanKampen. Christine will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Peter Johnson; children, John Kopec (Holly), Jeffrey (Rachel) Kopec; stepchildren, Lisa (Mike) Stephayn, Joe Johnson; grandchildren, Zachary and Summer Kopec, Cahl Kopec, Emma, Drew and Evan Stephayn, Erin and Abby Johnson; brother, Art VanKampen. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508. She will be laid to rest in Blain Cemetery. Flowers are welcome, or you can consider a memorial to the American Heart Association. |
