On Thursday, January 29, 2026, God called Phillip Alan Leach home, so Scotty beamed him up. Phillip was a man of deep belief in the Lord. He was Pastor and assistant Pastor in several churches. He served on an icebreaker in the Navy where he found time to play with penguins and sunbathe on an iceberg. He was a good and loving husband, father and grandfather. Phillip was preceded in death by his father, Winfield Leach; mother, Mary (Cole) Leach; three brothers and two sisters. He leaves behind his wife of almost 57 years, Anne (Rood) Leach; children, Michael Leach and Brook (Brooks) Leach; Stephan Leach and Tiffany (Early) Leach, Robbyn (Leach) Conley and Daniel Conley; grandchildren, Alex, Conner, Jordan, Krystal, Trisha, Jason, Benjamin, and Ryan; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard and Sharon Leach, David Leach; several in-laws; nieces and nephews; many dear friends. The family welcomes visitors on Sunday, February 8, from 2 to 4 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, February 9, at Woodward Baptist Church, 2160 76th St. SW, Byron Center, 49315, with a one-hour visitation prior to the service from 3 to 4 PM. Pastor Lance Laker will officiate. Interment will be in Kent Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions in honor of Phillip may be given to the American Cancer Society. |
