Adriann M. (Hoekstra) Hulst, age 78, of Caledonia, MI went to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Adriann faithfully taught at Dutton Christian Schools for 30 plus years until retirement. She went to Calvin College on a music scholarship and graduated with her teaching degree. Adriann loved playing brass instruments and used that talent to play in the Shofar Brass Ensemble. She enjoyed watching the Lions and Tigers games as well as crafting. She had a strong faith and did not complain through her many health issues. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Gordon Hulst; and sister-in-law, Bobbie Hoekstra. Adriann is lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Earl; children, Steve (Diana) Hulst, Kristin Crandall; brothers and sister, Ed Hoekstra, Jennie (Randy) Bomgaars, Don (Pam) Hoekstra; brother-in-law, Fred (Marcia) Hulst; sister-in-law, Carole Hulst; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, from 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 28, at Hillside Communty Church, 1440 68th St. SE, with Rev. Ron Kool officiating. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service from 10 - 11 am. Private committal services were held at Alaska Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Adriann may be made to Mission India or Dutton Christian Schools. |
