David Anthony Moody, age 83, of Middleville, entered his heavenly home on Monday, December 22, 2025. David was born on July 4, 1942 in Elwood, IN, where he grew up and graduated in 1960 from Elwood High school. In 1963, Dave moved to the Grand Rapids area after meeting Janet Peck at a Bible conference. David and Janet were married on August 17, 1963. He worked as a farmer and printer in the thumb area of Michigan until 1982. Dave and Janet joined ABWE, the Association of Baptist for World Evangelism in 1980. They followed God's call to Togo, West Africa. David did the hospital maintenance and the mission printing ministry as well as church planting. Returning to the Grand Rapids area in 1997, Dave would work at many area Bible Youth camps, Lake Ann Camp and Lincoln Lake Baptist Camp, until retiring. During retirement, David worked with his sons and grandsons in their racing hobby of Moody Motorsports #48 and SCCA SOLO. Several championships and many wins were accomplished with his help. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; parents, Robert and Phyllis Moody; and sister, Kathy Silves. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Daniel (Angela) Moody, Alan (Amy) Moody, Lucinda Moody; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren with three more on the way; many nieces and nephews. The family will greet visitors on Sunday, December 28 from 2 - 4 pm at Heritage Baptist Church, 1570 60th St. SE, Grand Rapids, where the funeral service will begin at 4 pm; with Rev Alan Moody officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Cemetery, Cass City, MI. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heritage Baptist Church for the mission churches where David and Janet worked with Pastor Joseph Akakpo. |
