George "Dutch" Talsma, age 95, of Grand Rapids, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, December 11, 2025.  Dutch is survived by his wife, Jan; children, Gary (Jane) Talsma, Terry (Barb) Talsma, Bruce Talsma and Connie Hatley, Cherie (Roger) Ericks, Nancy Talsma and Lennie Machatka, Cindy (Steve) Wendzel, Marcy (Greg) Stravers, Valjean (Mike) VandeHaar, Vicki Williams; 21 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; brother, Bill (Joanne) Talsma; and many nieces and nephews. Dutch enjoyed woodworking and carpentry work. He was a life-long dairy farmer and loved serving the church of which he was a member. The family will greet visitors on Monday, December 15, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM and on Tuesday from 10 AM to 11 AM at Friendship Christian Reformed Church, 190 100th Street SE, Byron Center, MI 49315. The funeral service will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, December 16, at Friendship CRC, with Rev. Calvin Compagner officiating. Interment will be in Yankee Springs Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Dutch may be made to Selah Empowers or Guiding Light Ministries.
