Muriel Hooyer, age 89, of Cutlerville, ​MI went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 7, 2025. She was born in Corsica, South Dakota, on April 5, 1936, to Harm and Hulda Lefers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; daughter, Debra; and a grandson, Jack. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Patricia (Steve) Hirdes, Douglas (Lottie) Hooyer, and Timothy (Amy) Hooyer; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Darlene Lefers, Mary Hooyer, Charlene Hooyer, and Ihla Hooyer; brother-in-law, Paul (Connie) Hooyer, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, from 3 to 6 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508, and Monday, November 10, from 10 to 10:45 AM at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 7171 Willard Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, 49548. A funeral service for Muriel will be held on Monday, November 10, at 11 AM at Covenant Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Jeff Vanderhooft officiating. Interment at Winchester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to World Renew or Faith Hospice.
