Dick Huisman, age 94, of Grand Rapids, MI, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 3, 2025. Dick had a mission to love others by talking and joking with everyone he met. He had a strong faith and served as an elder and deacon in his church. He also enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Coby; grandson, Benjamin Prins; brothers, Piet Huisman, Bart Huisman, Jan Hendrick Huisman; sisters, Dina Oomkes and Jantje Bos; sister-in-law, Sietska Hut. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Sue (Kevin) Prins, Ingrid Huisman, Annette (Ed) Bos, Jack (Cheri) Huisman, Linda (Jim) Blocker, Leo (Jenn) Huisman; 18 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren; brothers, Harry (Eitje) Huisman, Kor (Sieka) Huisman; sisters-in-law, Fran Huisman and Jantje Veenstra; many nieces and nephews. The family will greet visitors on Thursday, November 6, from 10 - 11 am prior to the service at Cutlerville East Christian Reformed Church, 501 68th St. SE, where the funeral service will begin at 11 am. Rev. Les Wiseman will officiate. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
