Marilyn Jane (Hoeksema) Stellema, age 97, of Grand Rapids, MI passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025.  She taught 4H sewing at Kelloggsville Christian School for over 20 years.  Marilyn enjoyed sewing, knitting and reading.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stellema; parents, Edward and Mary Hoeksema; daughter, Karen Malestein; grandson, Aaron Malestein; daughter-in-law, Donna Stellema; brother-in-law, W. Gerald Melpolder.  Marilyn is survived by her children, Rob Stellema, Marcia Hofstra, Kathy and Dan Roodvoets; son-in-law, Mark and Elisa Malestein; grandchildren, Randy Stellema, Chad Stellema, Denise and Kyle Lewis, Kim and Jason Rangel, Kendra and Aaron VanDerVeen, Kurt and Amy Hofstra, Kelli and Erick Valle, Jonathan and Katie Roodvoets, Dennis and Jessica Roodvoets, Bill and Michelle Roodvoets, Jessica and Justin Wigger, BJ Koster, Elizabeth and Stephen Franklin, Stephen and Jennylyn Koster; 36 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Kathryn (Kay) Melpolder; many nieces and nephews.  The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6, at 11 AM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508, with a one-hour visitation prior to the service from 10 - 11 AM.  Rev. Henry Admiraal will officiate.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in memory of Marilyn may be made to Edison Christian Health Center.  The family wishes to thank Edison Christian Health Care Center for the wonderful care they provided Marilyn.
