Noah Laike Goethal, 25 years old, went home to be with the Lord on October 4th, 2025, in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born February 27, 2000, in Grand Rapids, MI.

He is survived by his loving parents, Solange Goethal and Kevin Goethal; stepparent, Kristi Goethal, and Brian Herron, Solange's Fiancé; siblings, Ethan Goethal, Alyssa Goethal, and Ella Goethal; sister-in-law, Lydia Goethal; nephew, Anders; grandparents, Dennis Henley, Denny Goethal, and Nancy Carlson; step grandparent, Amy Goethal and Michael Carlson; uncles, Renny Henley, Paul Henley, Emily Henley, and cousins, Scarlett, Francesca, Drake, Atlas, and Soren.

Noah was quite the over achiever and excelled in not only academic but in athletics too. He chose to attend City High School (International Baccalaureate School), he liked the idea of having advanced courses including Mandarin. As a Junior he wanted to attend the school in our home district of Grandville, a school known for an amazing and powerful hockey team and he could still receive a great education.

Growing up in Michigan, Noah spent summers riding dirt bikes, and lots of time on the ice playing hockey. He was known as "wheels" on the ice. He loved fishing/boating in the lakes of Michigan, camping and family trips to Silver Lake Sand Dunes Recreation Area (Jeeping and learning the skill of manual shifting). He hunted deer for a few years in the fall with his dad and friends. On his first hunt, he snagged his first buck sitting on his dad’s lap. He had no restraints driving an off road or off-roading with older brother, Ethan. After school he played guitar hero with his little sister, Alyssa. He could beat his siblings at any video game of choice, eventually finding creative ways to make it entertaining.

Noah was spontaneous, and compassionate. He loved his friends, and family dearly. He didn’t think twice about dropping by unannounced.  One of his greatest joys in life were the people that surrounded him, embracing fully the family, friends, and work life. His nephew Anders constantly called to go through filters and snap chat and make up new words.  He would always stop what he was doing to help with his sisters for homework.

Many would describe Noah as patient, kind, and helpful, sometimes even mischievous.

After a year in community college, he joined the Air Force. He was later selected by his Command to join the Space Force. During his tenure he was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal for meritorious service (among others following in the Space Force).

As an adult, Noah coached a youth hockey league in Colorado Springs. In his free time, he enjoyed exploring CO, playing video games and spending time with his friends. Noah was very adventurous and also took to extreme sports.

Noah completed Information Security studies which included College, and many Information Security Certifications that allowed him to join one of the most prestigious, and highly classified positions. (Cornerstone Defense). He passed the CISSP Certification barely opening a book on his first try. At the time of his Separation from the Space Force he was an E5 Sergeant.  While continuing his career at Cornerstone he had classified projects that he took quite seriously. He was so proud to be a leader, and colleague in all aspects of his work also in the Military, and at Cornerstone.

Noah lived a short but full adventurous life. His accomplishments proved that he was dedicated to his work. His charisma was infectious as how he laughed with a huge smile on his face. His love for life, family, and friends left an imprint that will never dissipate or be forgotten. His spirit remains with us in every moment today, tomorrow, and forever. He will be incredibly missed by so many of us. Noah was an absolute blessing to all who knew him.

The family will greet visitors on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 6 to 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, where there will be an opportunity to share memories of Noah at 7:30 pm.  A private committal ceremony will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. In lieu of cut floral arrangements, please consider a planter that the family can keep and care for as a longer lasting tribute to the memory of Noah.  Contributions may be made to a youth hockey organization of your choice.

Noah graced us with his presence for far too few years, yet he brought so much to his family, his friends, his country in the 25 years he walked, skated, climbed. Our sympathy for all of us who mourn him.
