In Loving Memory of Armand Elmer Melville Jacko October 20, 1946 – September 8, 2025 Armand Elmer Melville Jacko, age 78, of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory, Ontario, Canada, peacefully journeyed to the Spirit World— Enji Pane Minwendimowing Aking, the Land of Everlasting Happiness—on September 8, 2025. Armand was born on October 20, 1946, to the late Mina Jacko in Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory. In 1972, he married Helen Elaine Pitawanakwat (later divorced), and together they welcomed four children. In 1983, Armand relocated his family to Lansing, Michigan, where he worked as a dedicated truck driver all of his life. A proud Anishinaabe man, Armand lived his life rooted in his Native heritage. He was known for his love of the casino slots, diamond art beading, and simply sitting around a fire with friends and family. Whether through his humor or warm spirit, Armand always went the extra mile to bring joy and laughter to those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his daughters, Rachel Jacko, Cher (Corey) Jacko-Shewfelt, Amy Lou (Berman) Gonzalez-Mendez, Angela Flamand; his sons, Lance (Billi Jo) Jacko, and Daniel Flamand; his brother, Eli Jacko; his sisters, Brenda Jacko, Ivey Armstrong. He is now reunited with his two sisters, Doreen Trudeau, and Mary Gutierrez, who preceded him in death. Armand’s legacy lives on through his 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, as well as a loving circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. We find comfort knowing that although he is no longer with us in body, his spirit has found peace, free from suffering. Family and friends will gather "As we say ka-waabimin-igo, we know we will see you again, in this world or the next." |
