Charles Aurthur Ybema, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the age of 79. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Lucy Ybema, son Chip Ybema, and brother in-law Harold Cook. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Sara (Ben Williams) Ybema; grandchildren, Theodore, Mahina, Minerva, and Bernadette; sister, Mary Cook; brother, Doug (Marsha) Ybema; former-wife, Betty (Geoff) Horvath; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial visitation will be held at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508, on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 10 to 11 AM, with memorial services beginning at 11 AM.  Interment will follow immediately afterward at Winchester Cemetery next to his son, Chip. A reception will be hosted at Stroo Funeral Home after the interment. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in memory of Chuck to the Harbor Humane Society.
