Sherry Nielsen, age 59, of Grand Rapids, MI passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025.  Sherry has always been an entrepreneur and was a fiercely independent person.  She loved cats, dogs and all animals.  Sherry enjoyed cars, music, fashion and volunteering for charities.  Sherry is preceded in death by her father, Donald E. Nielsen; brother, Donald C. Nielsen; sister-in-law, Teresa Nielsen.  Sherry is lovingly remembered by her mother, Stella; brother, Rick Nielsen; sister, Pat (Dan) Fields; sister-in-law, Chris Nielsen; nieces and nephews, Shannon, Peggy, Danny, Jamie, Patty, Darcie, Seth, Kyle; many great nieces and great nephews; former spouse, Bryan Marsman; many dear friends she calls her tribe; and her fur baby, Tully.  The family welcomes visitors on Friday, August 22, from 6 to 8 PM at Stroo Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, August 23, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508, with a one-hour visitation prior from 9 to 10 AM.  Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in memory of Sherry may be made to Focus on Ferals, Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary, Pediatric Oncology Resource Team (P.O.R.T.), or AMVETS National Ladies Auxiliary #23.
