Bradley Brian Swartz, age 39, of Caledonia, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. To know Bradley was to know joy! His radiant smile and warm personality lit up every room he entered, making those around him feel truly welcomed. As a passionate and talented chef, Bradley earned his degree in Culinary Arts from Grand Rapids Community College. He dedicated many years to the catering industry, where he poured his heart, soul and creativity into crafting memorable meals for his family and friends! Beyond the kitchen, Bradley embraced life with enthusiasm and found peace and happiness in the great outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, cycling, going on walks and playing disc golf—activities that reflected his energetic spirit and love for nature. He also gave generously of his time by volunteering at Special Olympics basketball tournaments. Among his greatest joys was being an uncle. Known affectionately as the “Fun Uncle”, he delighted in spending time with his nieces and nephews, always ready to play or sneak them an extra dessert! Bradley’s selflessness and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His “BIG” hugs, kindness, generosity, and vibrant presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him! He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Harry and Elizabeth Swartz, James and Joanne Horgan, Aunt Sheri Jo (Horgan) Montag, and Uncle Dale Swartz. Bradley will be dearly missed by his parents, Brian and Sheila Swartz (Caledonia); brother, Joshua (Lydia) Swartz (Traverse City); sister, Brianna (Derek) Eaton (Caledonia); nieces and nephews, Zane, Cameron, Macsen and Penelope Swartz, Linden and Hayes Eaton; aunts and uncles, William (Kathe) Swartz (Canton), Scott (Kimberly) Swartz (Sidney, OH), Jim (Kimberly) Horgan (Middleville), Jason Montag (Grand Rapids); great aunt, Kathy (Bouman) Myers (Sturgis), great aunt, Mary (Horgan) Smith (Big Rapids), great aunt, Virginia (Rekney) Horgan (Big Rapids); godparents, David and Cindy Piggott (Sparta); and several cousins. The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm, at the Cascade Township Park: 3810 Thornapple River Dr. SE Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
