David Tompkins, Jr., age 67, of Byron Center, MI entered into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.  David loved spending time with his family.  He enjoyed deer hunting, riding his Harley motorcycle, "Dudes Days", four wheeling, NASCAR races, spending time by a fire, star gazing, collecting cards, guns and coins.  He was a faithful employee for Thermotron in Holland, MI for 43 years.  David is lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Debra; sons, David Tompkins, Andrew (Angela) Tompkins; grandchildren, Summer, Jasper, Paige, Asher, Declan; mother, Jeanette Tompkins; sisters and brother, Linda (Jeff) Noblit, Doug Tompkins, Terry (Don) Ostrander; many nieces and nephews.  The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, April 6, from 1 to 5 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508.  The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 7, at 11 AM at Byron Center United Methodist Church, 2490 Prescott St. SW, Byron Center, 49315, with Dr. Rob Renberg officiating.  Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in memory of David may be made to Faith Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
