Charlene K. Groenendyk, age 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, March 21, 2025. Char was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Florence DeBoer, and a daughter, Linda Joy Groenendyk Hoezee. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her husband, Ron Groenendyk; children, Steven VanDusen, Karen (Justin) McDowell, Scott (Kristen) VanDusen, Pam (Jeff) Lund, and Brenda (Scott) Baar; grandchildren, Claire, Clayton, and Cloe McDowell, Paitin, Braylee, and Harper VanDusen, Samantha and Alex Lund, Kadin (Jenny) Baar, Maisie (Joe) Bosch; brother, David (Cindy) DeBoer, and sister, Diane Myers. The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, March 26, from 5 - 8 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th Street SE, Grand Rapids, and on Thursday, March 27, from 10 - 10:45 AM at Heritage Baptist Church, 1570 60th Street SE, Grand Rapids, where the funeral service will begin at 11 AM Thursday. Pastor Dave Graef will be officiating. Private interment in Kent Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Baptist Church for their children's ministry.
