Henry M. "Hank" Grooters, age 85, of Byron Center, MI, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 7, 2025.  Hank was a deacon, elder, financial chairman and treasurer at Covenant CRC, where he was a charter member.  He owned his own accounting and tax business for many years.  Hank enjoyed deer hunting, auto racing, fishing, and spending time at his Lake Mitchell cottage in Cadillac, MI.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl; sister, Susie (Ron) Heys; granddaughters, Angela and Andrea Pittman.  Hank is lovingly remembered by his son, Steve (Tami) Grooters; daughters, Sheryl Pittman, Diane Grooters (Greg); grandchildren, Rebecca (Mike) Fortuin, Matt (Jory) Grooters, Ashley Grooters, Kristyn Pittman, Andrew Pittman; five great-grandchildren; brother, Marv (Laurie) Grooters; sister, Lorraine (Gary) Zinger; many nieces and nephews.  The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, February 15, from 9:45 to 10:45 am at Covenant Christian Reformed Church 7171 Willard Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, 49548, where the memorial service will begin at 11 am.  Rev. Evan Heerema will officiate.  Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery.  The family expresses sincere thanks to Sunset Manor, especially to caregiver, Barb, for the loving care provided.  Memorial contributions in memory of Hank may be made to Covenant Christian Reformed Church.
