On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, it pleased the Lord to take from us our dear mother, grandma, great-grandma and sister, Maria VanHamburg, age 88, of Kentwood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bartel and infant son. Maria's grandchildren and great grandchildren were a huge part of her life. She leaves behind her children, Michael (Ellen) VanHamburg, Jolie (Tom) VanDyke, Heidi (Tom) Boorsma; 15 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Hank (Linda) Kegel, Jenny TenElshof (husband, Richard - deceased), John (Nancy) Kegel, Ann (Jerry) Sporte, Fred (Marie) Kegel; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to all the nurses at Corewell Health for their compassionate and loving care of Maria. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4, from 9:30 am - 11 am at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, where the funeral service will begin at 11 am. Rev. H. Hofman will officiate.
