Jessie V. Doren, age 84, of Byron Center, passed into a new life with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Jessie was born on August 21, 1940, in Quitman, Arkansas. She was raised in Quitman and then her family moved to Grand Rapids, where she would live the rest of her life. She retired from Keeler Brass after 40 years of service. Jessie loved to cook, especially for her family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Lubie and Jennie Holliman; siblings, Lubie Lee Holliman, Genevieve Massey, Robert Holliman, Mary Holliman, Leon Holliman and Donald Holliman.  She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 39 years, Willard; children, Michael Baar, Tami (Dan) Hartley, Jodi (Brian) Andrews; two step-sons raised by Jessie, Doug Baar and Daryl (Mary) Baar; grandchildren, Nicholas Baar, Alex Hartley, Nicolette (Jorge) Martinez, Jessica (Michael) Tiesma, Calvin Hartley, Brianna (Manuel) Sanchez, Ashley Hartley, Daniel Baar, Torie Baar; six great-grandchildren, sisters, Sue Pendergrass, Norma Spears-Severns; ​sister-in-law, Ruth Ann (Jim) Neal; brother-in-law, Steve (Patty) Doren; and many nieces and nephews.  The family will greet visitors on Saturday, February 1, from 11 - 11:45 am at Faith Baptist Church, 1412 44th St. SE, where the funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Rev. Matt Stone will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church.
