Lola Jean Vander Woude (Vander Sloot), age 82, of Byron Center, went home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. She was preceded in death by her brother, George (Barb) Vander Sloot, and brothers-in-law, Rod Luchtenburg, Henry Schmidt, and Allen Tinklenberg. Lola enjoyed traveling and was a master seamstress. Her pride and joy was her family and she loved them deeply, including her husband of 62 years, Abe; her children, Doug (Christine) Vander Woude, Brenda (Keith) Dosenberry, Larry (Wendy) Vander Woude; grandchildren, Marissa (Colin) Brand, Brandi (Logan) Davis, Grant Vander Woude, Brianna (Josiah) Smith, Jared (Elizabeth) Dosenberry, Andrew Dosenberry, Kendra Wisniewski; great grandchildren, Teddy, Emma, and Ezekiel Brand, Emery Smith, Cameron, Alice, and Elijah Dosenberry, Zaydan, Annaleah, and Jalen Roberts; sister, Sue (Clare) Kwant, brother, Roy (Chris) Vander Sloot; sister-in-law, Regina Schmidt; brother-in-law, Frank (Caroline) Vander Woude, sister-in-law, Clara Luchtenburg; and many nieces and nephews. The family will greet visitors on Thursday, January 9, from 5 - 7 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, and Friday, January 10, from 10 - 11 am at Corinth Reformed Church, 129 100th St. SE, where the funeral service will follow at 11 am. Rev. Jason Nagel will officiate. The service will be live-streamed at corinthreformed.church. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Ministry at Corinth Reformed Church. |
