Kenneth W. DeHaan, age 86, of Kentwood, MI, went to be with his Lord on Monday, December 9, 2024. Ken was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Keeler Brass after 42 years of service. He wore a constant smile and had a great sense of humor. Known as "Mr. Fix-It", Ken enjoyed working in the yard and helping others with various home projects. He was preceded in death by his son, LT(jg) Brian DeHaan, USN and four siblings. Ken was a loving and devoted husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa, and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Kathy; children, Michelle and Carl Mast, Brandon and Jami DeHaan; grandchildren, Isaiah (Kelcey) Mast, Robyn Mast, Kaylin (Mike) Timmerman, Kyle (Brittany) DeHaan; great-grandchildren, Piper Mast, Andrew and Elijah Timmerman; sister, Merilyn Spack; sister-in-law, Marty Dykstra; several nieces and nephews, and extended family members, including Dale DeHaan and Kevin DeHaan. The family will greet visitors on Sunday, December 15, from 2 - 5 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, where the service will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 16, with Pastor Sean Kidd officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. For those wishing, contributions in memory of Ken may be made to Faith Hospice. |
