Patrick Charles VerBurg Humphrey, age 81, of Grand Rapids, MI, was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Patrick proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed fishing, going out to eat, and spending time with his family. He had a joyful, outgoing personality and a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Tonylee Massey III; great grandson, Axton Taylor; parents, Bud and Betty Ver Burg; two brothers and two sisters. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Marcia; children, Mike (Paula DiCesare) Leaf, Mark (Laurie) Leaf, Tami Humphrey-Baldacci, Jeannie Humphrey-Anderson, Suzanne "Susie" Humphrey, Patricia (Mike House) Humphrey-House; 11 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; sisters, Pamela Ver Burg, Denise (Robert) Armstrong; brother, Rick Ver Burg; many nieces and nephews. The family will greet visitors on Wednesday, December 11 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home and Thursday, December 12 from 11 - 12 noon at Ada Bible Church, 2045 68th Street SE, Caledonia, where the funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Pastor Ed Carpenter will officiate. Interment will be in Blain Cemetery.
