 Everdina "Diny" Damsteegt, age 93, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Case (2010), and an infant son (1958); two brothers and one sister. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Nico (Susan) Damsteegt, Henry (Alice) Damsteegt , Sharlene (Larry) Vernon; grandchildren, Mark Damsteegt (Stacy Schemanski), Jason (Amanda) Damsteegt, Hannah Damsteegt, Joshua Damsteegt, Jesse (Drew) Bell, Kendra (Justin) Weeks; step-grandchildren, Josh Vernon (Kim Vollema), Julie (Matt) Miller; great grandchildren, Marilynn Weeks and Ezra Bell; step-great grandchildren, Ashley, Jamie, and Chris Miller; extended family and many special friends. The family expresses sincere thanks to the staff at Optalis (formerly Samaritas) and Faith Hospice for their loving care. The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, December 2, from 4 - 6 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, and Tuesday, December 3, from 10 - 10:45 prior to the service at Trinity United Reformed Church, 7350 Kalamazoo Ave. Caledonia, where the service will begin at 11 am. Rev. Jacob London will officiate. The service will be live-streamed at trinityurc.net. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of Diny may be made to Faith Hospice.
