On November 19, 2024, Anita Lorraine Holzhei went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born on January 6, 1943, in Detroit, MI to Ted and Frances Young. The family moved to Fairgrove in 1949, where her father was a Pharmacist and owned Young's Drug Store. She graduated from Akron-Fairgrove High School. She married Kenneth Holzhei on October 27, 1962, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville. They farmed in the Reese-Frankenmuth area for 20 years; while raising their two sons, Rob and Shawn. They moved to AuGres and owned and operated a stone quarry, AuGres Rock, for 10 years. In 1987, they became involved in short-term mission trips through, First Assembly of God Church in Saginaw, MI. They then served in missions through Youth With A Mission, (YWAM) in Kona, Hawaii, for 15 years. After this they returned to Michigan and led short-term mission trips for their church in Saginaw, MI. Ken and Anita moved to the Grand Rapids area in 2016, and Anita most recently attended Journey Church in Caledonia, MI. Kenneth predeceased her on May 17, 2023. Surviving are her much beloved sons and their wives, Rob and Cindy Holzhei of Bentley, MI, Shawn and Cynthia Holzhei of Caledonia, MI; brother-in-law, Bill Rohloff of Holland, MI (sister, Arleen, predeceased her in 2018); nieces, Marsha and Bob Bain of San Diego, CA, Donna and Marco Laborin, of San Diego, CA; several nieces, nephews and many cherished friends. Anita went to be with Jesus on November 19, 2024. At 81 years old, her passing was unexpected, and her mortal remains will await the resurrection on the last Day in Alaska Cemetery, Alaska, MI. She now resides in her Father's house in the place Jesus prepared for her. She would want you to be happy for her because she is "absent from the body; but present with the Lord" (2 Cor. 5:8). The immediate family had a private graveside memorial at the Alaska Cemetery in Alaska, MI.
