Robert Lee (Bob) Bursley, aged 81, after a brief bout with cancer, entered his eternal home on Sunday, October 27, 2024, where he is now whole and rejoicing with those already there. Bob was born on September 23, 1943 in Grand Rapids to George and Helen (Batcher) Bursley. He was a graduate of Wyoming Park High School, then served four years in the Air Force proudly being stationed in Minot, ND. Bob took great pride in being a Veteran and loved talking about the military. He loved his family, family gatherings and baking for others. He was famous for his Christmas tins filled with treats, apple and pumpkin pies during the holidays. After 30 years of working for GM and Bosch, Bob retired and enjoyed traveling with Sandy taking numerous Caribbean and Alaskan cruises, Hawaii visits including one visit for three weeks where Bob became fast friends with the locals. He also loved simple vacations including camping trips around Michigan in their motorhome. Bob was an avid sports lover and enjoyed cheering for his beloved Michigan State Spartans (GO GREEN!). During his retirement, he was an avid reader of old westerns, enjoyed handyman work and building decks and delivered flowers. He enjoyed going out to eat, taking rides and seeing the beautiful fall colors, sitting out on his patio swing drinking coffee and on Sundays grabbing lunch with Sandy and watching the planes at the GRR viewing area. Bob was a friend to many, with a kind heart and a humorous wit. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years, Sandy; his children, Amy (Joe) Adams, Rob (Rhonda) Bursley and Dan (Stephanie) Bursley; stepdaughters, Dawn (Rod) VerBerkmoes and Denise (Michael) Behm; grandchildren, Holly (Caleb) Przybylski, Heidi (Daniel) Przybylski, Madelynn Bursley, Andrew, Joe and Allison Bursley, Matt and Nicky Hudson, Deana (Kyle) Baker, Matt Banas, Shelby and Cassidy VerBerkmoes.
