It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Merlin “Dutch” Marvin Kornoely on October 21, 2024 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Merlin was born on 1940-03-11 in Missaukee County, Michigan. He was a plumber for many years. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, but particularly the Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, and the Michigan Wolverines. He enjoyed playing card games and solving crossword puzzles. He liked to surprise his grandchildren with $20 in a mail delivered birthday card.  He is survived by his sons, David (Brenda), Dennis, Jason (Erin); daughter-in-law, Kristina Kornoely; son-in-law, Mike Cole; his grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Stephen, Emily, Liam, Lucas, Rachael, Makenna, Eleanor, Sylvia, Jacob, Henry, Claire, and Leo; great-grandchildren, Remington, Kelsey, Natalie, and Wynnlea. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith (Dykstra) Kornoely; and his children, Michael Kornoely, and Melinda (Kornoely) Cole.  The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, October 29, from 5 to 8 PM at Stroo Funeral Home.  The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, at 10:30 AM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508.  A private burial ceremony will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
