Brian Duane Snyder, age 81, of Cadillac, Byron Center and Grand Rapids, MI went to be with his Lord peacefully on Thursday, October 24, 2024.  Brian loved his family, working outside, construction equipment and especially enjoyed reliving his youth by listening to music of the 50's and 60's and being a hot rod/street car enthusiast.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy as a Naval Construction Force (NFC) Seabee from 1964-68.    Brian retired from GM after 33 1/3 years of dedicated service at the Fisher Body Plant on 36th Street in GR.  Lovingly remembering Brian are his children, Hope Snyder, Brian Jon Snyder; his former wife, Mare; grandchildren, Zachary (Chelsea) Snyder, Austin Snyder, Larry Sawyer III, Mary Sawyer, Elisabeth Sawyer (Liz); 3 great-grandchildren, Oliver, Theo, and Charlotte; brothers and sisters, Judy DeYoung, Boyd Synder, Garth Snyder; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are welcome to visit with the family from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday, October 27, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508.  Interment will be in Blain Cemetery.

Love that you used his “Jimmy Dean” picture. Reminds me of the character he was. Won’t be able to be there in person to celebrate Brian’s life with you but you’ll all be in my heart and prayers.

We were sad to learn of my cousin Brian's illness and passing. Our condolences go out to all family and friends. In Brian's honor we are making a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project, a cause we think he would have supported.
