Our mother, Carol (Rauwerda) Goodyke, age 87, left our world on September 27, 2024, in Lakeland, Florida.  She leaves her children, Shelley (Dave) Kidd, Jodie (Brian) Siemen, Jeanne (Kent) Hastings, and Tim (Irma) Goodyke to carry on with her songs, her sense of adventure and casino visits.  She made friends with everyone, so we also will make new friends wherever we go in her honor. 

Her 10 grandchildren, Brett, Ahren, Nic, Kiel, Kaley, Kerri, Kevin, Jerry, Matthew, and Mitchell; 19 great grandchildren, Brady, Jackson, Braylen, Ashlynn, Aiden, Ashton, Ava, Gunner, Tucker, Kennie Girl, Grady, Ireland, Madison, Lucas, Trevor, Taryn, Taylor, Dean, and Tyler called her many names, Gigi, fishy Gramma, Gramma Carol and a trickster. 

She was a single mother of 4 working at General Motors to make ends meet.  Once she retired, she moved to Mississippi where she survived hurricane Katrina, lost everything and came back to Michigan. 

We all said our goodbyes to her in songs, dancing to music in her room through our tears and kisses. 

She requested no services and cremation has taken place.  In her remembrance, we ask you to sing a song and do a little dance.   

We would like to thank the Hospice angels in Lakeland, Florida for their great care of our mother.
