James D. Casey, Jr., age 84, of Kentwood, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, August 3, 2024. James enjoyed gardening and camping. He served in the Michigan Army National Guard, and retired from Westinghouse after many years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Meridith Casey; sisters, Hattie Casey and Janice Ryan; and brother, Montgomery Casey.  James will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Cathryn; daughters, Cori Oakley, Julie (Steve) Dieterle; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Dennis Casey; sister, Linda Segar; sister-in-law, Bonnie Copper; and several nieces and nephews.  A private family service for James will be held at a later date at Floral View Memorial Gardens with Pastor Christine Beaudion officiting.  Memorial contributions may be made to South United Methodist Church.
