Robert E. Orchard, age 84, of Caledonia, MI,  went home to be with God on Friday, August 2, 2024.  Bob graduated from Michigan Tech and went on to own a small business for metal treating called State Heat Treat for many years. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast.  He loved watching his sons and grandchildren play sports and was an active supporter of everything they did.  Bob enjoyed traveling with his wife, Susan, both for business and pleasure. He enjoyed the company of all the family dogs throughout the years, especially his beloved Maggie and Sammy. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Susan; sons, Robert M. (Marlo) Orchard, Peter C. (Suzie) Orchard; grandchildren, Cameron(Haley), Sloane, Zane, Winston; sister-in-law, Kathy Hansing; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert I. and Isabelle Orchard; brother, Duane; sister, Karen Smrcina; and brother-in-law, Charles "Chuck" Baker. The family will have a visitation at St. Sebastian Catholic Church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 8, 2024.  A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM, which will be followed by a luncheon. St. Sebastian Catholic Church is at 9408 Wilson Ave, SW, Byron Center, MI; with Monsignor William Duncan as celebrant.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bob may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. https://www.stjude.org/give.html
