Richard "Dick" Harkema, age 82, of Byron Center, MI, passed away into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Clare Harkema; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ron Bremer, Barb Harkema, Henry Bultsma, Dave Westra, and Julie Bultsma.  Lovingly remembering Dick is his wife of 62 years, Donna; son, Chris Harkema and Sarah Niemann; grandsons, Sam, and Arie; sisters and brothers, Joanne and Stan DeHaan, Tena Bremer, Cecil and Shari Harkema, Ray and Jayn Harkema, Leo and Mary Harkema, Ben and Leanne Harkema; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marcia Harkema, Sharon Bultsma, Ruth and Dick Locke, Judy Westra, Peter Bultsma and Lisa Barquist, Dewey and Karen Bultsma, Dave and Carole Bultsma; many nieces and nephews.  The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, June 18, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.  The funeral service will be held at Heritage Christian Reformed Church, 3089 84th St. SW, Byron Center, 49315, on Wednesday, June 19, at 11 AM with a visitation prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 AM.  Rev. Dan Mouw will officiate.  Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in honor of Dick may be made to the Heritage CRC Mission Fund.
