David L. Vander Hulst, age 62, of Caledonia, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 2, 2024. David retired from L3 after 40 plus years of service. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed outdoor sporting activities and golfing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerrit and Marilyn Vander Hulst; and brothers, Larry and Ted Vander Hulst.  David will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Karen; children, Keith Vander Hulst, Lauren Vander Hulst, Eli Vander Hulst (Brooklyn Jensen), Kara Vander Hulst (Justin Duke), Jenna Vander Hulst (Christian Thompson); grandsons, Parker and C.J.; brothers and sister, Jack (Pat) Vander Hulst, Lori Van Gessel, Ron (Donna) Vander Hulst, Steven Vander Hulst; and sister-in-law, Sandy Vander Hulst, along with many nieces and nephews. The family will greet visitors from 12 noon to 1 pm on Friday, June 7, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, where a memorial service will begin at 1 pm.
