Edward Ophoff Sr. age 93, of Jenison, was taken to his heavenly home on Friday, December 1, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Adriana. He is survived by his children, Eric and Marilyn Ophoff, Edward Jr. and Elizabeth Ophoff, Mark and Cynthia Ophoff, Faith and James Noorman, and Joy and Raymond Schwarz. Ed’s family grew to include 38 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Sunset Manor staff for their many years of care and Faith Hospice for the care they gave to Ed. Ed, an Air Force Veteran, was a life-long member of the Protestant Reformed Churches, serving in the special offices of the church many times. He also served on the boards of two Protestant Reformed Christian Schools. Ed lived his life knowing that he was saved by the grace of his Savior Jesus Christ. Ed was a friend to many, helpful to all, and an enemy of none. He was a man with many interests and lived a life of thankfulness for the gift of salvation he freely received. The family will be holding a private graveside service in the morning on Thursday, December 7. Also on December 7, there will be visitation with the family at 1:00 PM and a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Grandville Protestant Reformed Church, 4320 40th St. SW, Grandville MI with Reverend Jacob Maatman officiating. It is requested that those who attend refrain from using essential oils or perfume. |
