Jack Richard Nyburg, age 79, of Kentwood, MI, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 30, 2023.  Jack graduated from Rockford High School in 1962, and Davenport Institute in 1965.  He also spent two summers at Culver Military Academy and afterwards joined the Navy in 1963.  He was released with an honorable discharge later after becoming ill.  He worked with his father in the plumbing business, had two car dealerships, and delivered parts to places around West Michigan.  Jack's final job was working as head custodian for Grand Rapids Schools, where he retired in 1992.  Jack is survived by his wife, Susan (Whipple); sons, Richard (Angela), Walter (Ellen), Christopher (Shawn); 2 grandsons, Dylan, and Jonathon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dan (Sandy) Whipple, Alan (Marge) Whipple, Lori (Ron) Newcombe, and Alvin Schumacher.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruth (Mitchell) Nyburg; in-laws, Claire and Margaret (Russell) Whipple, Doris (Whipple) and Louis Barhitte, Rose (Whipple) Schumacher, James Whipple and Frank Whipple.  A visitation will be held prior to the service at Kentwood Baptist Church, 2875 52nd St. SE, Kentwood, MI 49508, on Saturday, August 5, from 10 to 11 AM.  The funeral service will begin at 11 AM, on Saturday, August 5, at Kentwood Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry Fox officiating.  Interment will be in Kent Memorial Gardens.  Memorial contributions in honor of Jack may be made to Faith Hospice or Kentwood Baptist Church.
