Dorothy J. Watkins, age 92, passed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, July 10, 2023. Dorothy loved the Lord and enjoyed being involved in many church activities, including many missions related activities. She deeply loved her family and cherished the time spent together at Maranatha Bible Conference. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 72 years, Russell; her children, Cheri (Stan) Newman, Lori (Dan) Karel, Douglas (Carol) Watkins, Dan (Brenda) Watkins; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 16, from 6 - 8 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St SE, and on Monday, July 17, from 10 - 11 AM at Good News Baptist Church, 6830 Eastern Ave. SE, where the funeral service will begin at 11 AM Monday. Rev. Brian Cederquist will be officiating. Interment in Blain Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Good News Baptist Church or Beacon Hill Foundation.
